This brace-like device is called the NESS 200 or the BIONESS. It basically uses functional stimulation which helps to return lost function in the hands and arms paralyzed by stroke. it has built in electrodes to stimulate key muscles. It helps the px do things functionally by muscle re-education by making them fire the specific muscle when they will to. With much practice, px's will be able to do finger movements independently without using orthotic devices and other tools. this is very user-friendly device which really makes the HEP easier for the px.
